Andy Griib

Sponsor: MoCo

Andy started his career as a finished artist in the 80s, before working with advertising agencies and studios on brands including Nissan, Citroen, Marks & Spencer, Harley Davidson and Disney. He managed the studio for a WPP group company before working freelance for London design agencies who included M&C Saachi.

Andy received corporate identity work from organisations that wanted to understand their own brand as a business tool and discover how design thinking could contribute to bottom line performance. This led to his studio being formed in 1997.

The Design Council asked Andy to participate in ‘Designer into Schools week’ between 2002-2004. The initiative, for Design and Technology teachers and their students, raised awareness of design and helped young people explore their creative skills.

With over 15 years hands-on experience, Andy chose to apply his practical knowledge and develop theoretical models and frameworks at Master’s level in 2003, resulting with a distinction for design and branding strategy at Brunel University.

An international design effectiveness award followed in 2005 after working with a client who wanted to diversify their business.

In 2009, a client approached Andy to design and brand a business school reception area. This led to the use of an innovative new material that developed into a branded product – ‘griib® wall art’. Since that time Andy has been commissioned to transform many spaces, the largest single installation was in Chelmsford at over 92 square metres.

A member of the international Design Management Institute, a Chartered Designer registered in London and committed to ACID (Anti-Copying in Design), Andy delivers the highest standards of design and project management and always brings something a little different to a creative project.

Andy is comfortable working with SMEs who want to harmonise all areas of their business from inside culture to external business vision, or working at boardroom level delivering strategic design solutions.
