Eastgate Community Primary School

Eastgate decided to design three gorillas within their school.

Africanah – United

The animals of Africa inspired them with the bright colours and patterns. They combined the leaves and flowers of Africa into the South – African flag. When they finished the design it reminded them of the nature Africa holds.

“Go Wild!”

Eastgate wanted to include work by all the children in the Infants, so they took the idea from author/illustrator Anthony Browne’s “Take a Shape”. The teachers chose the outline gorilla shape; the children chose their favourite “wild” animal, then changed the gorilla into the animal.

Super Bob – G/Flash – Gorilla Thriller

Alfie Royale and Rio Smith used their imagination to create this fun design. You never see a gorilla with multi-coloured stripy fur and wearing a super-heroes cape!
