Heather Avenue Infant School

“H.A.Eco” has been the result of lots of hard work at Heather Avenue Infant School. The children learnt about the Gorilla and the sustainability of our planet and then created their own designs as part of a homework competition.

Gabe Morgan (Year 2) won the competition, and his ideas have been incorporated in the final Gorilla piece.

Elements of other children’s designs were also taken to make up our final design with the help from Tony Allen a local artist. The children added their own piece of artwork to the gorilla.

“H.A.Eco” was unveiled at our Open Studio Event on Friday 7th June 2013 but is now part of the trail and can be found at Mandell’s Gallery on Elm Hill. The children have enjoyed this project and learnt so much about the Gorilla, its environment and sustainability.
